AUH airport lounges: every lounge at Abu Dhabi, and how to get in

Abu Dhabi's Zayed International moved into the striking Terminal A, and Etihad's lounges came with it. Here is what is on offer, and the cheapest door into each room.

This is the airport-specific companion to our main UAE airport lounges guide. That guide covers the five ways into any lounge in detail. This one is about the rooms themselves at AUH, and which door is cheapest for each. Because Terminal A is still relatively new and lounges have been opening in stages, confirm the current line-up before you rely on it.

A quick word on the terminal

Abu Dhabi now runs almost everything through the single, huge Terminal A at Zayed International. That simplifies things: most lounges are under one roof. It is a large building, though, so leave time to walk to your gate after the lounge.

The lounges at AUH

  • Etihad lounges (Terminal A). The headline act. Etihad operates premium Etihad Guest lounges, typically a First Class lounge and a Business Class lounge, with dining, showers and quiet zones. In: an Etihad or partner premium-cabin ticket, or Etihad Guest Gold and Platinum status on qualifying trips.
  • Ahlan lounges. The shared, pay-in lounges open to any traveller regardless of airline or class. In: pay at the door or pre-book, and they often appear on Priority Pass, LoungeKey and DragonPass, so many premium cards get you in free.
  • Independent and network lounges. Terminal A has further pay-in or network lounges. If you carry a lounge membership, check its app for the current AUH list before you travel.
Nuqat rule of thumb: the room does not care how you got in. If you do not have Etihad status or a premium ticket, a card with Priority Pass usually beats paying at the door.

How to get in, cheapest door first

  1. Flying Etihad Business or First? The lounge is included. Done.
  2. Have Etihad Guest Gold or Platinum? Use it for the Etihad lounge, no per-visit cost.
  3. Carry a premium card? Check whether it includes Priority Pass, LoungeKey or DragonPass before paying, that usually covers Ahlan. See our best UAE cards.
  4. None of the above? Pay in at Ahlan, or pre-book online for a little less.
